CATAN KULIT (Painted Skin)is one of the story in Pu Song Ling's 'Liao Zhai' stories series, a famous writer from Ching Dynasty.

This version of CATAN Kulit using masks to give audience's a strong theatrical experience, not to mention to allow audience to re-think about moral values. The messages within is valuable resource to both performers and audiences alike, to excavate the real and beautiful within.


"We believe that each and every mask said got its own character and meaning. The mask has got great energies. We hope that different masks could exude different body movements, anchoring on the impulse of dance. This is will heighten the drama in the theatre."

Award:
This full-lengthy performance has received 5 awards in 10th BOH Cameronian award 2013 in following categories:Best featured performer(Agung Gunawan), best choreographer (Lee Swee Keong & Agung Gunawan), best group performance, best costume design, styling and makeup and best music & sound design.

由本国唯一以日本前卫表演艺术“舞踏”为基础的本地杰出舞团~ “寿板舞踏”五月为本地表演艺术爱好者呈献——舞剧《画皮》。

《画皮》邀请了来自东爪哇,印尼传统舞蹈家Agung Gunawan 参与创作与演出。寿板舞踏多年来的作品惯用东方经典的故事为创作脚本,大胆贯穿和结合不同的艺术媒体形式创作;如去年一度重演的 《梁祝》就结合舞蹈、音乐以及影像的元素。早期的《倩女幽魂》则结合舞踏, 影像,电子音乐,装置艺术等等联合一起。《砸了樱桃碎了心》是以 日本著名小说《罗生门》为蓝本, 请来了时装和发型设计师联合创作等等。

《聊斋志异 》是清代蒲松龄短篇小说集的代表作。全书共16卷,有短篇小说491篇。《聊斋》的其中故事更古今成为中国戏曲,现代电影,舞蹈和戏剧先后应用和改编。其中大家熟悉的如:画皮,聂小倩,僧孽,狐妾等等就成为近代电影导演的题材。


李瑞强善用舞台艺术的技巧,以鲜明,写实、虚拟、暗喻、映射、对比、夸张等的手法,把一个虚拟的空间整合, 从原作的内容重新创作,特别并带有个性的带给观众视觉感官的刺激,同时也激发观众深入反思和探讨社会的道德训诫。从中带出的讯息可以给表演者和观众在生活中成为借镜和激发 内在的“真善美”。就如蒲松龄本身的《聊斋志异 》故事也是总结生活中的经验教训,教育人要诚实、乐于助人、吃苦耐劳、知过能改,除此也提醒人们要弃恶从善,讽贪刺虐,善待众生,诚信待人。



《 画皮》的演出班底除了Agung Gunawan,还有寿板舞踏手丘冠南和刘翠婷的演出,手集团的鼓手Boyz担任客席舞者外,同时也请来应用古琴,马头琴等乐器表演的鬼才乐手阿龙巴,本地著名戏剧导演兼灯光设计师罗国文担任灯光设计。丘冠南本身除了身兼舞者,他还是兼任了这次的服装设计。
 


“我们相信每一张面具都有其特别的角色和意义。面具本身就有一股神秘的力量。我们希望通过不同的面具能启发身体意识的移动和舞动力量。”
